Sunbrella fabric may seem like new material, but it has been proving its elite performance since 1960! There are many advantages to using waterproof fabric on outdoor furniture, it’s here to make life much easier in the garden, on the patio, or poolside.
Super easy to clean material and with the right care and maintenance it could last up to 10 years, if not longer! You wouldn’t want to buy new patio furniture every other year, right? So why not look through our luxury range of all-weather furniture today, and get your outdoor space looking sleek, chic, and fabulous for the season.
Can I leave my Sunbrella Cushions out in the rain?
We want to ensure you make smart decisions based on comfort and quality before deciding on your outdoor sofa or garden dining set. Sunbrella first started manufacturing in the 1960s with the challenge of creating an awning canvas with a substantially greater lifespan than cotton. It is now the leading manufacturer of shade structures, marine canvas, and upholstery fabric for both outdoor and indoor uses.
Sunbrella fabric is water-resistant, UV resistant, mould proof, stain proof, and all the furniture in our Aruba Collection is filled with quick-dry foam so you can get back to relaxing in up to 30 minutes after those brief rain showers!
Due to the hardwearing nature of Sunbrella fabric, it is super easy to clean and our furniture can be traditionally cleaned using warm soapy water, or it can be jet washed! Check out this highly satisfying video of a Sunbrella chair being restored to it’s original glory.
Are Sunbrella Cushions really worth it?
Our luxury range of weather resistant furniture will add a touch of modern sophistication to any patio, garden or conservatory. We only provide exceptional products for comfort that are designed to last, from garden dining sets to outdoor sofas, including Fire Pit Table sets and cushioned Sun Loungers.
Perfect fabric for our standard British weather, go from rain to shine in a matter of moments and you’ll still never have to worry about your garden furniture getting too wet during those random showers! Another wonderful feature of Sunbrella fabric is that it’s fade resistant, which means it will retain its colour over time. As a solution dyed acrylic fabric, each thread is coloured all the way through unlike other fabrics that are surface dyed. With normal use, your garden furniture should last up to 10 years, if not longer!
One of the best features of Sunbrella fabrics is that it is water, mould and stain resistant! It is made from a plastic material called acrylic and is less likely to absorb liquids and leave stains. Whilst it is recommended to clean your furniture before storage, it is also safe to leave it outdoors for long periods of time.
Get back to enjoying the sunshine in minutes, after cleaning or brief rain showers, you can expect drying times of up to 1 hour! The Sunbrella fabric is made from acrylic, which means it is less likely to absorb water. You will notice how liquids bead up and run off the fabric, before it has a chance to permeate through to the fast drying foam filling (so even if it does seep through the fabric, our furniture has been designed for maximum air circulation so it is ready to use at a moments notice.)
While acrylic is not an environmentally friendly material, Sunbrella has managed to reduce the fabric’s environmental impact over its entire lifespan. Water and energy waste are kept to a minimum during the manufacturing process. Sunbrella fabrics, which are more durable than other fabrics, are less likely to be discarded after only a few years. Furthermore, they have their own recycling programme in which they bring used Sunbrella fabrics to manufacturers who convert them into other industrial materials.
Whilst the Sunbrella fabric will protect your furniture, even through adverse weather, we always recommend covering your patio furniture, whether it is being left outdoors, or put away for storage, using a furniture cover will keep your garden suite looking new, every time you want to use it.
