Interior Design Trends for Summer 2019

Summer 2019 is set to be a scorcher, so make way for the sunny days ahead in your garden by perfecting your décor inside first. No doubt you’ll be receiving plenty of guests as the weather starts to heat up and the kids are on holiday, so there’s truly no better time to take a look at interior design trends for 2019 that you can try for summer. Here are some of our favourites:

Interior Design Trends for 2019

Botanical Greens

Botanical prints and soft hues are still going strong into summer 2019. There’s nothing quite like the fresh, cheery feel of bringing elements of the outdoors in. To make the most of this trend, invest in some luscious, easy to care for plants such as peace lilies, lavender, spider plants and pothos. Complement your green plants with brass furniture and gold accessories so they stand out among your décor.

Recycled Kitchen

Sustainability and environmentally living is a huge topic when it comes to interior design trends for 2019. This will continue into the summer, as homeowners look for more eco-friendly ways to furnish their kitchens and the rest of their home. Recycled materials are easier to come by, with large furniture stores changing to way they manufacture their products to benefit the environment. Kitchens made from recycled wood are wonderful when teamed with brass taps and hanging plants.

Mix & Match Patterns

Bold, eye-capturing patterns are on-trend for this summer. If you’re worried about overbearing colours and patterns taking over your décor, keep it coordinated by selecting patterns from the same colour palette. Your plain furniture will act as a blank canvas for you to slowly start introducing accents that’ll add some brightness to your home. Think cushions, a rug and curtains with light-coloured furniture to match. You can get more interior design ideas to make this happen.

Raw & Natural

If you want to take the minimalist look to the extreme, try the raw and unfinished look for your kitchen and dining room. It’s one of the key interior design trends for 2019, though not everyone will be brave enough to try it! Choose eco furniture that will be used long-term rather than styles that are more disposable, such as wooden or rattan. Keep an eye out for well-made pieces with a subtle unfinished look, such as shutters instead of curtains and wooden flooring instead of carpet.

Living Coral

Pantone’s colour of the year is Living Coral: a warming yet neutral shade that’s simply ideal for summertime. This calming, subtle colour can be used anywhere in the home, from the bathroom to the living room. It works well with other chalky hues such as orange and red soft furnishings. If you want to keep it a little more earthy, then incorporate raw, organic textures in lighting and furniture.
