However, when that glorious sun is shining, in true British fashion we are straight outside and into our gardens. Instead of trying to awkwardly relax on those stiff outdoor chairs you’ve dug out and dusted off from the shed, why not create a wonderful outdoor living room in your garden? With the right accessories and the right furniture, your mundane patio plot can be turned into a mesmerising and tranquil area, expanding your communal areas into the garden to create a place that you, your friends and your family can enjoy. From the understated to the lavish, below are some simple ideas that will get you outside as soon as the sun hits once again. Get Traditional The outdoor lounge layout can sometimes be overthought. As fancy as you may want to be, there’s no beating a traditional layout that offers a simple and logical lounge setting. Here we recommend going for a three-piece suite option like you’d find in our Bliss collection. An easy to arrange and a flexible choice that allows you to effortlessly accommodate to a group of people. You can pick from two-seaters to individual lounges chairs as well as coffee tables. More formalised, this layout gives a comfortable way to socialise in your garden space. Get The Angle Right[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”770″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Just like you’d expect to see in your living room, an L-shaped sofa offers you a wide range of options. If you’re looking for a piece of outdoor furniture that will fit a lot of people or you’re on the hunt for a place where you can sprawl out, this is the perfect option for you. Mix the focal L-shaped piece with some stylish armchairs to complete the civilised seating arrangement and you’re all set for a perfect place to host those brilliant barbecues.

Bask in Comfort

Get cosy this summer in a luxurious and modern plush outdoor seating space. Opt for the outdoor furniture that includes almost too many big, soft and fluffy cushions, which will add not only an abundance of comfort but a feeling of luxury. As always pick from weather resistant suites that withstand those dreaded summer showers and that also dry quickly so as soon as the suns back out, you’re ready to go!

Embrace The Natural

When it comes to gardens, there can be no better furniture than the wicker. A favourite that has dominated for generations, it works perfectly in both traditional and contemporary settings, it is simple to maintain, it looks great and most importantly, it is durable. An option that does exactly what you need it to, you don’t need to look much further than wicker if you’re wanting to create the ideal outdoor living space.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”771″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]If you’re lucky enough to have a sizeable garden, why not consider a 360 setting? Take advantage of your garden and the view it offers by creating a peaceful circular seated arrangement. Position your outdoor furniture in this way to get away for the boxier, square, standardised look. Capitalise on a round table and don’t hold back on the amount of cushions you use. This setting helps you and your guests all feel as one whilst you enjoy the beautiful summer days.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

It was predicted within the article by Polly Dickens, the creative director for Habitat, that Rattan Furniture was making its comeback… and she wasn’t wrong! Rattan sales are massively on the up already this year so we thought, for those of you who haven’t got on board with the trend yet, that we’d explain everything you need to know about rattan itself. A lot of people still don’t know the difference between rattan and wicker so don’t worry, we’re here to take you through the steps of just why rattan is proving to be so popular!
  1. First of all, the rattan furniture market has evolved massively over the last decade. Today there are hundreds of designs for interiors as well as exteriors that are all practical as well as highly stylish. All you need to remember is to not get tangled up between your rattan and your wicker. Rattan is made from palm plants (one of the strongest in the world), whilst wicker isn’t a material at all as it refers to the weaving process of the rattan.
  1. Rattan itself is a man-made material that is perfect for household use as it is incredibly lightweight as well as massively durable, which is ideal for your busy home. By featuring a suite in those high traffic rooms, wear and tear will be a thing of the past and once more, you can easily move or re-position your set-up whenever you want. This is especially handy for chasing the sun around the garden and for when you’re stuck with the hoovering!
  1. When it comes to picking what size of furniture you need, whether you have aces of space or you’re somewhat limited, do not fear, there is a suite for you. Work with the space you have! All you need to do it measure the area you have and buy your suite accordingly. There are several modern sofa sets that offer seating for all of the family so if you need a modular set, an L-shaped option, an accompanying dining table or just some armchairs to relax in, there’s a rattan collection to meet your needs.
  1. It lasts. The problem too often with furniture nowadays is that it can look like the best thing to ever have graced the world but it sadly doesn’t stay like that. Outdoor rattan furniture is generally made from a PVC or high density polyethylene which is incredibly hard-wearing and will last much longer than most other outdoor furniture. The colour will be just as bright as the day you bought it, and then high density weave of the fabric means it will last a long time.
  1. There are so many fabric choices to choose from. There’s a style for everyone, whether you’re looking for a contemporary look or something more traditional. Comfort is highly important, so there are options available with removable covers or or specially-fitted and hand sewn upholstery. The removable covers are a great option for anyone with pets or children.
